Heat styling

No surprises here - heat styling your hair is bad for it. Whether you're using a hairdryer, straightener or curling tongs, the heat generated from these appliances will weaken the hair shaft, prompting split ends. In order to keep your mane as healthy as possible, you should aim to only style your hair three times a month (or less). Think about it this way - yes, a perfectly styled mane looks good at the time, but after years of taking heat, it won't be long before your hair starts to split. Aren't you better off taking care of your hair's future, rather than ravaging it in the here and now? I believe the answer is yes.
So, save heat styling for big nights out. Wear your hair up more, and if you can learn to love how your hair looks after it's dried naturally, then so much the better. It took me years to get used to the natural wave in my hair, but now that I have, I love it! And when you do style it, use high-quality appliances, I personally recommend ghd which I bought through my hairdresser.
So take care of your hair, girls, and lay off the heat styling. Your tresses will thank you for it.

But, if you MUST straighten daily, you're much better off investing in a GHD than a cheap straightener. If you consider the cost-per-use - and the fact that they last many years - they're totally worth the extra cash. Hope this helps!
