How often I style my hair
September 26th 2008 06:08
The short answer? Almost never.
The long (hehe) answer is, I'm growing my hair, therefore am staying away from heat styling whenever possible. I get my hair trimmed and styled once a year (on my birthday) and otherwise just shampoo and condition it and let it dry naturally the rest of the year. I also deep condition once a week and if there's a big event (i.e. lots of cameras) then I might blow-dry it.
Scalp massage is also a big factor: I use a combination of rosemary oil and jojoba oil, at least twice a week. The beauty of this is that it's so easy - you can do it when you're watching TV. I usually leave it in overnight then shampoo it out in the morning.
Since I stopped dying my hair several years ago, I've found that this regime has worked well for me. My hair is in top condition, which I love. And I suspect that such a regime would work for most of us, which is why I think you should give it a try, and see how your own hair responds.
