One day, my hair will look like this

I'm kidding, as beautiful as it is it's way too long for me. The point is, you need to have a goal in mind if you're growing your hair. Enjoy it at all lengths, because you may not experience that length again for some time... but have a certain length in mind that you want to achieve. For me, it's waist length, and according to my calculations I'm about three years away from it.
Saying this, having a time goal may be preferable to you - if you're in your teens and have just started growing your hair, then it'll be long by the time you hit your 21st birthday, for example. Just knowing that should make you smile if you're genuinely committed to growing your hair long. And it is a commitment, being constantly bombarded by images in the media showing cute new cuts (think Katie Holmes), not to mention our friends' haircuts. Sometimes you may waver from your goal and get bored of growing your hair long - this is natural, and will pass. As long as you stay away from the salon, you'll be just fine.
So have a goal, girls (and guys... I promise I won't tell) and you'll not only have something to look forward to, it'll make the journey that much more interesting as you enjoy all the lengths your hair has to offer. Stay committed and that long, gorgeous mane will be all yours.
