The hairstyles of Australian Fashion Week 2010
May 10th 2010 07:41
Now, before you ask "Australia has a Fashion Week?" (YES, yes we do!) I'll just jump right in and say that the 2010 Fashion Week was one of the best I've seen, both in terms of creative designs and wearability. For me, Fashion Week is not just about the clothes - I also love seeing what the designers come up with when it comes to their models' hair and makeup. Naturally, some of the styles are completely left-of-centre (and quite unwearable, unless you're on your way to a costume party), but there are others that are truly gorgeous and can give you some real inspiration when it comes to your own hair. If you want to see some proper coverage of Australia's Fashion Week, click here, if not, scroll down and check out some of the hairstyles - I've picked out my favourites from a long and (in my humble opinion) very impressive lineup.
What I loved most about the hairstyles of Australian Fashion Week was their incredible diversity: not a single designer looked as though they'd copied another. Obviously not every style is worth trying at home, but there's still some serious inspiration to be found in checking out the hair on catwalks from around the world. I hope you enjoyed this gallery, and there will be more hairstyle tips coming very soon.
Alice McCall's models had beautifully undone hairstyles, and some unique and colourful eye-makeup as well
Super-slicked middle parts were the order of the day for Manning Cartell, giving his models a very stern and serious look
Ae'lkemi's designs were among my favourites, and the romantic updos the models wore were beautiful also
Kirrily Johnston showed great attention to detail with her models' hair, with various kinds of neat, tight braiding
